I wouldn't buy one, but would love to play around with one of those. The Reactable IOS app didn't really do much for me, but I'm really intrigued by the actual Reactable. I know a couple of developers currently working on some new apps supporting and making the Leap Motion device more practical and usable, the current available apps besides Hollyshock Usine are pretty patchy. You're right though, there are a lot of great tools available now for audio editing and manipulation, making the process easy and enjoyable, but one needs to be careful not to fall into the habit of relying on the tropes that these tools also tend to create as well.
